PINES PLANTATION FISHING REGULATIONS
A.
PERSONS AUTHORIZED TO FISH
Forest Preserve:
- Property Owners
- Guests of property
owners. Guests of property owners must be accompanied by the
respective property owner.
- Resort guests.
- CSA & Sea
Pines Company employees and members of their families when
specifically & individually authorized by CSA. Guests
of employees must be accompanied by the respective employee
or employees.
- Groups as authorized
by CSA.
Sea Pines Plantation Lagoons:
- Property owners
and guests of property owners may fish in those lagoons within
Sea Pines to which access may be had through common ground.
Trespassing on private or regime property is not permitted
under any circumstances.
- Fishing in any
lagoon bordering a golf course must be done in a manner and
at a time that will not interfere with golf operations.
Salt water marshes banks within residential areas of Sea
Pines Plantation:
- Property owners
and guests of property owners in areas where access is available
through common ground. Trespassing on private property is
not permitted under and circumstances.
B. CONTROLS OVER FISHING
Sea Pines Security office will exercise control over all fishing
within the Sea Pines Plantation area. All persons fishing will
be required to have identification issued by the Security office
as indicated below:
- Property owners
- Property Owner I.D. card
- All others - temporary
tags or badges of a distinctive type or color and issued for
a specific date or period.
Persons
when fishing must wear the identification on the hat or outer
garment, or where it is readily visible. The individual fisherman
is responsible for determining the locations of those common
grounds providing access to lagoons.
C. FISH CATCH LIMITS
- Bass: 12 in. minimum
length and not more than five (5) fish per person per day
- Crappie: No limit
on size; not more than thirty (30) fish per person per day
- Bream: No limit
on size; not more than fifteen (15) fish per person per day
- Catfish: No limit
on size; not more than two (2) fish per person per day
- Saltwater: check
current South Carolina law (varies from year to year)
D. BAIT
No minnow bait may be used in the Forest Preserve or any other
specifically designated body of fresh water within Sea Pines.
In Lake Joe, the use of non-artificial baits: crickets, worm,
hot dogs, chicken liver, etc, are restricted to children 14
years of age or younger and/or guardians who are directly participating
with the child.
